Grammy nominee and top Billboard artist Keith Anderson will perform Dec. 7 at the Country Music Concert at the Christmas in Ida Festival.
And Michigan native and up-and-coming star Taylor Taylor will be featured the same day in a pop concert presented by Monroe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Superstore.
In keeping with Christmas in Ida entertainment traditions, the concerts will be free and performed during outdoors in the parking lot at Ida Township Hall. Seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. Patrons wishing to bring chairs may do so. For more information, visit the festival Web site at www.christmasinida.com or call 269-6017.
Mr. Anderson’s hit songs include “Pickin’ Wildflowers,” a song that quickly jumped to the Top 10 Billboard charts. Other top songs include “ Wild Girls,” “Sunday Morning in America,” “Somebody Needs a Hug,” “I Still Miss You,” “She Could’ve Been Mine,” “Tight White Wife Beater and “ Your Town for Now.”
His albums “Three Cord Country and American Rock & Roll,” which includes “XXL,” “Every Time I Hear Your Name” and “Podunk,” was certified gold by the RIAA. In 2008, Mr. Anderson recorded “C’mon!” that included “I Still Miss You,” which reached the Top 5 on the charts.
Mr. Anderson has proven himself as an ace songwriter with the Grammy-nominated “Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?),” recorded as a duet by Garth Brooks and George Jones, and “The Bed,” recorded by Gretchen Wilson with Big & Rich.
Mr. Anderson has earned a reputation for hard work and openhearted friendliness that got him named No. 1 New Male Artist in 2005. Raised in Miami, Okla., he was an avid sportsman until a shoulder injury forced him to retreat from professional athletics. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in engineering, but soon found himself at another crossroads as he pursued a career in music.
After moving to Nashville, Mr. Anderson used his time to write songs that sparked his career as a songwriter.
“It was a blessing because I got to spend those years writing and developing a song catalog. And not just writing, but writing with people like Jeffrey Steele, Bob DiPiero, Craig Wiseman, guys like that,” he said.
He went on to write “Lost in This Moment” which later scored CMA and ACM Song of the Year nominations.
Ms. Taylor will present a blend of jazz and pop that offers an eclectic sound with the accompaniment of acoustic guitar. At age 16, her music offers “maturity and insight beyond her years into life and love,” according to her biography. She has played at several events including the Bluebird Cafe in Tennessee, where she opened for Radio Disney’s Shane Harper.
The Christmas in Ida Family Concert Series opens its doors to the world on Dec. 6 with a commemorative concert featuring the Saline Fiddlers, a show presented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Performing traditional bluegrass, western swing, Celtic and Christmas music, the fiddlers present a “positive influence by today’s wholesome American youth,” organizers said.
The concert will be held in cooperation with Cornerstone Baptist, Ida United Methodist, West Ida Immanuel Lutheran, East Ida Immanuel Lutheran, Prince of Peace Lutheran and St. Joseph Catholic churches. The event is funded in part by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Michigan Humanities Council.
Returning to open the pop concert is Anita’s Dance Company of Muskego, Wis., performing a special holiday show.
Other Saturday entertainment includes the Monroe County Great Start Parent Coalition, which will host the Flurry of Fantastic Family Festivities Show, presented by Mercy Memorial Hospital System. The show includes interactive entertainment for parents and children and will feature music, movement, games and prizes.
The afternoon entertainment kicks off at 12:15 with the Peg Harris Dance Studio followed by the Lighthouse Dance Company.
Miss Monroe County Breanna Davis will perform prior to the Christmas in Ida Prince and Princess crowning. Joining her will be Miss Monroe County Outstanding Teen Courtney Baumann, Junior Miss Monroe County Lillian Farrand, Little Miss Monroe County Morgan Jacobs and Tiny Miss Monroe County Hailey Colon.
Festival entertainment continues on Dec. 8 with the Ida High School Collage Band Concert beginning at 2 p.m. at the high school.

Fans lined the streets of 2nd Avenue waiting to get in to what would be a packed house at the Benchmark Sports Bar. The night concluded with Keith meeting and signing autographs with every single fan that came out to the 2013 Fan Club Party.
The day after the Fan Club Party, Keith played for an amazing crowd on the Riverfront Stage on 1st Avenue for the 2013 CMA Festival. Fans were singing along to every song, including Keith's "Lost In This Moment," which went to #1 for the duo Big & Rich.

KEITH ANDERSON CONCERT SET FOR APRIL 25 GALAXY SERIES03/26/13
Grammy nominated country music star Keith Anderson will perform at Chadron State College on April 25, as part of CSC’s Galaxy Series of events.
On Anderson's current album, C’MON!, he co-wrote 10 of the disc’s 11 tracks, pairing with some of Nashville’s top tunesmiths including Rivers Rutherford, Tim Nichols, Chuck Cannon, Vicky McGehee, Jeffrey Steele (also the disc’s producer) and Bob DiPiero.
Anderson earned the reputation of being an adept writer of award nominated hits, not just for his own projects but for other artists as well and his good guy persona is as widely known as his high energy, let’s-get-this-party-started live shows.
“I wrote by myself for so long that it’s fun to co-write,” the Oklahoma native said in a news release. “I’m just such a social person that I love people and working together with them. Different co-writers have different strengths and I think you tend to tuck away certain ideas for certain co-writers.”
For ticket information contact the CSC Memorial Hall Box Office by calling 308-432-6207 or e-mailing email@example.com to reserve tickets.
